The Tower Crane Rescue course is for operators and workers that may be required to rescue a casualty from a tower, crane, walkway, or other elevated position. The course teaches participants to rescue a casualty and return them to the ground. It teaches the use of the correct equipment.

It also teaches students about the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and ensures that employers can implement the legal requirements set out in the regulations. The course is suited to rescue operators.

Workers that form part of a rescue team or have been designated as having responsibility for casualty recovery, are also advised to take this one-day course. The course provides guidance on the use of equipment required to carried out a rescue at height.

It is a legal requirement that a rescue procedure is implemented for the rescue of persons working at height and specific to Tower Crane Operators. The course lasts one day and includes both theory and practical.

The course is suitable for all candidates, there is no need for any previous experience or qualifications. Our trainers are highly qualified and have industry experience. All our trainers are hold a valid Donut Safeland Rescue Instructors Certificate and offer this course on behalf of Donut Safeland.

The training is to equip delegates with knowledge & skills on the Donut Safeland Rescue Descent Devices, so they are competent to use it in an emergency situation. It is designed for novices or a refresher for experienced personnel. The course has two parts, typically split 70:30

• An instructor led classroom presentation of the Donut Safeland Rescue Descent Device. 70%
• An instructor led series of student practical descents and associated tasks. 30%

Entry Requirements for Students:
• Medical fitness to complete practical training.
• Delegates comfortable working at height.
• 50% of the delegates should be first aid trained to assess the operator medical situation

Any location with suitable facilities, we offer this service at your location or on any required site where tower crane rescue is required. We offer this service nationwide.

Assessment Criteria:
To be awarded a Donut Safeland Rescue Basic User Certificate trainees will have to attend the classroom theory session and demonstrate correct use of the Donut Safeland Rescue system.

Certification Period:
On successful completion of the class the trained person will be awarded a Donut Safeland Rescue Basic User Certificate which is valid for 3 years. Persons must then re-qualify by completing the basic user class again to receive current and up to date information on the devise. We do highly recommend that a refresher course is carried out at yearly intervals.
